Getting To The Island
McFarlands Lodge is on the Prince of Wales Island, which is across the Inside Passage from Ketchikan. It is away from all the noise and crowds. It is Secluded!
Planning Your Trip
Alaska Airlines has a direct 90 minute flight from Seattle to Ketchikan. Once you are in Ketchikan, there are 3 options as to how to get to Prince of Wales Island.
Float Plane Charter
We are partnered with Seawind Aviation. Seawind is based at the Ketchikan Airport (Ketchikan International Airport) and will fly you directly to McFarlands Lodge dock.
We will take care of setting up your booking with Seawind to coordinate with your other flight and we will add it to your bill.
Seawind charges by the plane (it does not change price for if there is 1 person or a full flight, up to 6 people)
This is the most popular option for guest as it shortens the travel time.
Island Air
Island Air Express has multiple flights between Klawock (on Prince of Wales) and Ketchikan daily. Island Air is based out of Ketchikan Airport (Ketchikan International Airport) and will fly you to Klawock. Klawock is a little over an hour drive from McFarlands Lodge. Island Air charges by the seat.
Prices are about $175 each direction plus fees.
If using Island Air, a shuttle will be needed to get you from Klawock to McFarlands Lodge. A shuttle costs $100 each direction.
Inter-Island Ferry
Inter-Island Ferry has a daily round trip between Ketchikan to Hollis (on Prince of Wales). Inter-Island Ferry is based in Ketchikan. In order to get there from Ketchikan Airport, you will have to take a little ferry from Ketchikan International Airport (which is on its own island) to mainland Ketchikan. The ferry costs:
12 years and older: $6
6 to 11 years: $3
5 years and under: Free
This ferry makes a round trip every 1/2 hour. It is a 5 minute trip to get across Tongass Narrows.
The Inter-Island Ferry to get to Prince of Wales Island is 1 mile south of the Airport. We recommend calling a Taxi to make that trip easier with your luggage.
The Inter-Island Ferry departs Ketchikan to head to Hollis each day at 3:30pm and arrives in Hollis at 6:30pm.
The Inter-Island Ferry departs Hollis to head to Ketchikan each day at 8am and arrives in Ketchikan at 11am.

Ages 65+ : $28.50
Ages 2-11: $23.50
Under 2: Free
